Hey there, I’m Kiara !

I am a 500-RYT, RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher), a Birth Doula and a Postpartum Doula.

However, my most important title is Mama. I am a mama to three little ones, so currently I am in a season of life where its busy, messy, yet so beautiful!

My journey into the world of birth support is inspired by a profound belief that birth is a sacred moment in your life that is to be women-centred and upheld to the desires of the birthing mother.

I offer traditional birth support rooted in faith, compassion, and time-honoured wisdom gathered from my own experiences and life education. As a birth doula, I walk alongside mothers and families with emotional, physical, and spiritual support through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum season, honouring God’s design for birth and the strength of women’s bodies and souls. I believe birth is a natural and normal event that should be supported with love, wisdom and patience.

I look forward to walking in this journey with you.

Why “alma"?

“Alma” in Spanish means soul. To me, the soul is our center, everything we do flows from it.

The journey to motherhood and the journey of motherhood is a soul altering one. As mothers we are challenged, changed, and reborn through each child.

Therefore, Alma Doula + Wellness is here for you as you change and grow.

As your fellow Alma Mama, I aim to provide each of you with the loving support whether through doula support, as your movement teacher or as your new found mama friend.

Remember, it takes a village to raise a child, and you are not alone.

My husband and I have been blessed with 3 beautiful and amazing children.

I truly love exercise and movement! Soccer, pilates, crossfit, stroller runs, bootcamps, and hiking are some of my favourite ways to move.

  • Two women in traditional clothing with a baby in a rural landscape, mountain background, clear sky, and a dog nearby.

I have worked in women and children's public health initiatives in Peru and Guatemala. I loved learning about how Indigenous women value and see childbirth.

  • Family in front of ancient stone pyramid with cloudy sky background.

One of the biggest adventures we have done was driving to the border of Mexico and Guatemala from Kitchener, Ontario in our Toyota Tundra truck with our at the time 1.5 and 2.5 year old and our dog.

  • A family of six enjoying a day outdoors under a tree in a field of yellow flowers. The family includes two adults and four children, with the children sitting on the ground and one child on a man's shoulders.

I absolutely love being a Mother and a Wife. Both of these roles have helped mold me into who I am today. For me, there is nothing more fulfilling than this.

I speak English and Spanish. I could never get bored of visiting Central and South America!
